Version 1.6 included a new powerful feature:
Smart CopyThis new option is available in contextual menu of the following items: Models, Elements, Restrictions, Views, Tasks and Outputs in the same report or in other reports.
As an example of use, imagine you have a report with 5 different models and you want to set the same restriction for all of them...
Just create and define the restriction in one of your model, then right click on the restriction (highlighted in the restriction text) and select the [Smart Copy] in the context menu.
Then comes a dialog that allows you to update or to add the restriction select to other models
Then in case of update:Select the properties of the restriction you want to update (only in case of update)
Select the destination restriction you want to update
And in case of add:Select the destination model that will have a copy of the restriction
When done, you have copied or duplicated your restriction on several models...
What is also good is that you can update other reports in the same way (use the [Add Reports...] button to have more options in the destination box).
I described the example for a restriction, but it works the same way if you want to update or copy Models, Elements, Views, Tasks or Outputs.
If you maintain several reports which are similar, this feature might be very useful (e.g. the end-user ask to display a new element in 10 similar reports...)
Enjoy !
