Hello
New to Seal Report, I've got a basic MS Excel file that I want to use as a test file. In the Server Manager I have:
Database type: MS Excel Connection type: I have choices of OleDb, ODBC and MS SQL Server OLE DB Connection string: I've typed in here where the MS Excel file is located
In the connection type I have tried all three, but the Helpers all say error got when checking the connection and format of the initialisation does not conform to spec
Any ideas on what I do? Really could do with a step by step guide if anyone is willing to help me out.

It is now better to use LINQ to query an Excel file: Add a new LINQ Data Source, then add an Excel Table and set the file path. You will also be able to define joins with your new table !
There is a sample to check: 201

I tried this once and it worked, but when i try this again I keep getting the Helpers all say error got when checking the connection and format of the initialisation does not conform to spec.
Is there a problem with a driver or something, really confused as to why it worked on one excel file but not for another. The connection string is pointing in the same place other than the file name is different.
Any ideas?

The connection string is not used for LINQ Tables... Just change the 'Excel File Path' property of your Excel table.
