I got the impression I could use practically any Sql-based data source, but I can't add my Sqlite 3 database. How can I do that?

We do not have experience with SQLite, but you may google "sqlite odbc driver" to install first an ODBC driver.
A quick search gave: http://www.ch-werner.de/sqliteodbc/ but you have to test it.
