Connection to MySQL and MSSQL database successful but no tables show up

Hi,
I am trying to connect a data source to Seal Report Designer to construct a dummy report. I have managed to get a successful connection with both an MS SQL and a MySQL database when I press F7 Check Connection (on both the Server Manager and the Seal Report Designer) however none of the tables present in the database show up. I know it's not a problem of permissions as I am logging in with the root user on MySQL and my windows user on MS SQL which can access the tables from SQL server management studio.
I have used the following connection string for MySQL: "Server=localhost;Database=test1;Uid=root;Pwd=****;"
And the following connection string for MS SQL: "Server=localhost;Database=test2;Trusted_Connection=True;TrustServerCertificate=True;"
This seems like an issue with the Seal Report client to me. Any suggestions what I should from here? Are there any SQL data sources that are guaranteed to work? Or any data source that for sure works? Or is it an issue with my setup?
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Just try the context menu: 'Add Table' or 'Add Tables from catalog...' The Check the table by using the button [Check Table] or if you select a column [Show Column Values]

Hi team, I'm struggling to understand the logic in starting a new report. Namely, I can create a new connection under the LINQ Sources and that is where I can get to. I am using an OBDC connection to a MySQL database. When checking the connection [F7] it shows up 'checked successfully',; however I cannot see any tables from this connection. The tutorial is light on detail and appears to be out of date. Can anyone point me in the right direction, with a youtube video or a working example trace? All assistance is much appreciated.
