Sorting fails when subtotals are enabled

If you have a report with subtotals and click on the sort field for a different column, the first time you click, all of the subtotals will show up at the top, and the second time you click it will crash.
Not sure how you'd fix this. I'd think it would have to sort within the subtotal groups. and then sort with the top/bottom version. Observed with a date field.
Seen in Windows on 6.1.0.0. I've worked around it by disabling the subtotals.
