Hi,

I'm frequently receiving error - "Object reference not set to an instance of an object", whenever I try to migrate a report from one server to another.
I have tried the following as well:
I have copied the data sources as they are, and have declared them on server.
I've made the default connection String point to the same data source in Configuration.xml.

Pls help!

thanks.

It was showing additional error info as "unable to find GUID for source ..."

So, I played around with the GUID in the source xml.

This approach is working as of now.

Hi Eric,
While migrating, we follow the above approach(manually replacing the report's metaSourceGUID with using New_Source's metaSource GUID). And this was working until yesterday.
Today we have moved the reports into a new environment; and after the above change is done, SEAL aborts with the error: "SEAL Designer has stopped working".

Could you please help with suggestions? What is the normal procedure that users usually follow while migrating between environments?

Currently we are not in a position to replicate this in NorthWind.

Thanks.
