I would like to restrict (filter) a query based on user selected values. However, instead of typing the values (and the error that comes with typos) I want the selection list to be based on a Dimension Table in the DB.

I see that in the Dashboard Sales you have a restriction based on a selection list. However, I do not see how I can get that into my report as for my restrictions I only have 4 strings I can enter into the Model.

Is there a way to get the same restriction selection you have in Dashboard Sales and have that selection based on a Dimension Table query (Select column from table)?

What are your thoughts?

To Elaborate. If you browse your data source, expanding tables and then expanding Columns By Category, expanding your Dimension Table and select your column you want to filter on, there is an option to "Create enumerated list from this column. Select this option. That will create a list based on a SQL query to this dimension table selecting all values from this column.

Then if you drag this column into your report you will see that the restrictions are now populated with the column values from the DB.
