My need is to utilize SR but with existing RDL SSRS RPT files, is there any way to achieve this as is?
If not, any idea about the difficulty of implementation of modification of SR to support importing RPT files?

Hi,
There is nothing done so far to migrate from RDL file to Seal Reports files...
It should be possible as I imagine it is understanding and converting one model to another one by reading and creating XML files.
Hard to quote the effort, probably a few days depending on your skills and your knowledge of both products and on the target reports you want (of course Seal Report won't have the same rendering and features as SSRS).
Of course it would be interesting for SR to have such a converter...
