oracle connection date format issue

I was using oracle connection and converted date time field as
to_date(to_char(DIVAL.INDATE, 'dd-mon-yy')) AND DATE TYPE AD 'date & time'
while checking column values it is showing as below
8/15/0008 12:00 AM
8/15/0008 12:00 AM
8/15/0009 12:00 AM
8/15/0009 12:00 AM
8/15/0009 12:00 AM
9/15/0024 12:00 AM
9/15/0027 12:00 AM
10/15/0001 12:00 AM
Ex: it shoud be 8/08/2015 12:00 AM
While executing views it is taking input date in mm-dd-yyyy FORMAT.So i am not getting any records between given data.Please help me.

I don't know, it looks like your conversion is incorrect, can you check it ?
I do not understand the syntax: AND DATE TYPE AD
